Billy Cohn, MD Venture Partner
Dr. Billy Cohn is Director of Minimally Invasive Surgical Technology and Co-Director of the Cullen Cardiovascular Research Lab at the famed Texas Heart Institute at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in Houston, TX. He has 13 years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery and over 30 patents for medical devices, several of which have revolutionized heart surgery techniques. Dr. Cohn is an Associate Professor of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine and Adjunct Professor of Bioengineering at the The University of Houston.
Dr. Cohn is a graduate of Oberlin College and of the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where he served as the last chief resident under the legendary Dr. Michael DeBakey. He served on the faculty of Harvard Medical School for 11 years as an Associate Professor, before returning to The Texas Medical Center.
